  • Robert Frizzo

    Chairperson. Grower

    2012–present

    Robert is a grower in Beerwah and also Chairman of the Glasshouse Co-op. He has been part of the Glasshouse grower and business community for 40 years and is a talented photographer. He is also a Master of Tai Chi and brings a certain tranquillity to the team. He joined the board in November 2012 and was voted in as Chairperson in 2021.

  • Barry Kelly

    Director. Independent

    2019–present

    With an extensive career in the Australian Pineapple industry, Barry brings tremendous experience and knowledge of business and fresh and processed fruit to Tropical Pines. Barry was involved with Golden Circle for 40 years, 11 of which he served as Managing Director and also sat across numerous boards in the food industry business and shared his knowledge and experience in many consultative positions. In 2009 Barry joined the Board and after a short stint away in 2019, Barry rejoined as an Independent in 2020.

  • Dale Sherriff

    Director. Grower, SherrPine, Yeppoon

    2019–present

    Dale is the youngest son of founding farmer Grant Sherriff and runs their property in Yeppoon with his brothers and sister. He brings a new perspective from one of the best fresh fruit growers in the industry with a keen eye for succession. He joined the board in August 2019.

  • Murray Pike

    Director. Grower, Sandy Creek Pineapple Company, Glasshouse.

    2011–present

    After finishing school in 1969, third generation farmer Murray is an industry enthusiast and a pioneer in fresh fruit, being one of the first growers to pursue the new gold cultivators. Murray’s father was an original shareholder in Golden Circle in 1947 with the family farm Sandy Creek Pineapple Company providing pineapples to Golden Circle until 1999. In 2000, Murray made the decision to move to 100% fresh pineapple production and it was then that the family farm began supplying Tropical Pines. Murray then became a director of Tropical Pines in 2012 whilst still playing an active role to this date within Sandy Creek Pineapple Company which has been running under his son Sam. The generations of the Pike family continue to grow with Sam welcoming his son Ryan in 2020, with Ryan now 5th generation to live in the original Pike farm house.

  • Shaun McKinnon

    Shaun is an Advisory Partner with BDO in Brisbane, one of the world’s leading Tax, Audit and Advisory firms.  At BDO, Shaun specialises in providing Corporate Finance and Restructuring services. Shaun’s experience in Corporate Finance is primarily in the form of acquisition and vendor financial due diligence assignments and private capital raisings while his Restructuring experience includes a broad spectrum of advisory and formal roles assisting underperforming or insolvent businesses and their financiers. Whilst Shaun provides expert advice across a broad spectrum of industries, he has established himself as a leader in the Food & Agribusiness sector where he specialises in providing financial due diligence, private capital raising and advisory services for Agribusinesses, investors and financiers.

    Prior to joining BDO, Shaun was a Partner at Grant Thornton where he lead the Food & Agribusiness team in Queensland. In addition to his current role at BDO, Shaun is also on the Advisory Boards of Griffith University Business School and Matchfit Platforms and is the Secretary of North Brisbane Rugby Union Club. Shaun’s formal qualifications include being a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accounts Australia & New Zealand and a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors in addition to holding a Bachelor of Commerce (Griffith University), Associate Diploma in Applied Finance (FINSIA) and a Masters of Agribusiness (Marcus Oldham College).
